I am currently studying towards my Masters Degree with Leadership Centre, UKZN.I completed the Postgraduate Diploma: Leadership and Management in 2007 and it gives me great pleasure to express my words of gratitude as this has led to my promotion to as a TRAINEE
CORPORATE AFFAIRS MANAGER.

This was as a result of the good quality education standards offered by the Leadership Centre, UKZN.
 The Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Management has been designed in a manner that will give students a full sight into leadership traits and styles for effective and efficient management practices. I personally learned how to:

Studying through the Leadership Centre has broadened my horizons as a student because of the participatory lecturing approach.  The assignments encouraged in-depth academic research and aided me to develop my academic research approach. Being a student in the Leadership Centre has definitely enriched my personal mastery and enhanced my leadership style in my working environment.

As a consultant on organisational development, I am often confronted with client problem situations that defy simple solutions. I find that many of the organisations I work with struggle to deal with the challenges and complexity that comes with a rapidly changing context. My decision to study at the Leadership Centre arose out of a quest for a practical course that would enable me to understand and deal with the messy situations that come with organisational leadership. My time at the Leadership Centre has been a real life changing experience. I was equipped with lenses that have enabled me to gain a better understanding of the problem situations that many of my clients face from a systemic viewpoint. I was equipped with tools and methodologies for intervening in ways that address the dynamic nature of human interactions. I have found the processes easy to apply directly into my work environment. I have been introduced to the latest thinking in areas like knowledge management as well in organisational leadership. My worldview has changed from a linear one that functions on a simplistic problem to solution approach to a more holistic one that seeks to better understand the problem situation. During the research for my dissertation, I received a lot of support not only from my supervisor but all the other lecturing staff who all took a keen interest in my work. The occasional seminars also exposed me to world renowned thinkers and practitioners in various areas within the systems thinking and practice field. Today, I am involved in lecturing and research building on the same foundation that was laid at the Leadership Centre.

Debtors Management Workshop

Dear Kriben, Indira and Dees On behalf of the Pietermaritzburg Debtor's Office, we would like to forward a heartfelt thank you for a day of inspiration and positiveness that we have not experienced both in our work and personal lives in a very long time. We have been thoroughly motivated to put into practice valuable lessons learned from the Workshop and rejuvenated with positive energy. We all felt privileged to have been participants in the Workshop and have all commented on how valuable such a Workshop would be for the whole of Finance to experience!  Kind regards,Linda, Tessa and Saneli

I would like to thank you for organising the workshop for our debtors office. The whole programme was fruitful and has personally taught me how to deal with other colleagues and our clients in a positive manner, to learn to co-operate and have a team spirit and to understand that each member of staff is important. I believe that whatever I have learnt will help me to be able to offer the best customer service to our clients and to perform my duties to the best of my ability. Thank you

We, the team of the debtors section wish to thank you for giving us the opportunity to interact and understand our goals and purposes as one part of  the whole system of our university.  This helped us to understand our important roles we play in this university. Dr Kriben Pillay, our facilitator, has made us go into deep thinking and helped our staff to move forward with looking at the strengths and skills we already have and how we should commit to these tasks and goals to make ourselves more productive.  I envisage and am confident that this will have a great impact on the moral of the staff and in time we will prove that a drastic change in our attitude and motivation within will grow to bring about effectively and efficiency in all aspects esp with service delivery with our immediate stakeholders.
